It was in the second grade I developed an interest in drawing. My childhood friend, John Weiss, for whom
I still keep in touch with since 1972, is the person who helped me get started into drawing.
In junior
high and high school I had developed an interest for mechanical drafting. I started cartooning as a hobby for the school
newspaper. In junior college I focused more on cartooning than in drafting work. I started making birthday cards for my family
and friends. When adding something relating to the repicient, or even having them in the card, the responce was
priceless. It came to my attention a few times that some of these cards would become keepers.
In the state university there was another chapter in my growth in the art field. Industrial Design became
my main study for three and a half years. During this time I had a taste of graphic design and photography.
I eventually changed my major to the fine arts, and another friend of mine, Alan Lechusza had expanded my horizon in the fields of
the art world.
I became a member of the Los Gatos Art Association. It was my brother, Cray, who discovered
this wonderful association and we recommend this association for those artists looking for a "home."
